Oasis of tranquility amid the chaos of Chaweng

We just returned from Koh Samui having spent 7 nigths at the Anavana Beach Resort. What a wonderful place! The staff are all so friendly, and the boutique resort is an island of peace and calm in contrast to the central area of Chaweng. It has a delightful beachfront restaurant (mix of thai and western food, all excellent) and bar, and a small, quiet pool area. We never had any issues getting sun loungers for the 4 of us.

The resort comprises 20-30 "cottages", which are essentially large-ish rooms with either one king or two double beds and a private bathroom - we had two linked cottages, which was ideal for our family. Decor appears very traditional; wifi throughout. They are concealed amid lush vegetation with a small stream running the length of the resort. So peaceful and relaxing.

Note that if you are looking for loud music and all-night parties, this place is not for you - try downtown Chaweng, which is ~ 20 mins walk away.

Very good indeed

We have three nights at this wonderful resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It wasn't without a couple of bumps in the road but these were small things compared to what a lovely time we had there.

Location – just about perfect. You can't believe from the chaos and noise of the main road just how quiet this resort is within a few steps from Reception. The cottages are set in beautiful jungle type gardens which afford you privacy and shade. It spills down from Reception through the gardens onto the pool and the beach so it is absolutely perfect. It is also just seconds from a 711 and all types of bars and restaurants.

Accommodation – very comfortable indeed. It is a well established resort so the rooms can be quite dark but they are comfortable and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The air-conditioning is very effective, the bathroom small but very well laid out and uses the space well.

You have everything such as robes, safe, hot drinks making facilities, umbrellas and a fridge along with many of the home comforts. We slept extremely well and they are fairly well insulated from the noise although you can hear the occasional bird!

Food – We were room only so I can't comment on this. I would say though that there's so many places just outside the resort to eat and a fabulous little fruit store there makes great shake and serve the best mango I've tasted!

Staff – very friendly and obliging. They do their best to help and the guys down at the beach bar are superb. The happy hour there is two for one on cocktails and beers and they are served with delicious roasted peanuts.

Pool and beach – pretty much paradise! Lots of sun lounges for you to relax on both around the pool and on the beach. There is some selfish reserving going on but not so much that we couldn't get two beds together every day. You can also have some wonderful beach walks from here.

All in all, this was a really good stay that could've been perfect with just a couple of adjustments. Without hesitation we would stay here again and I suppose that tells its own story.

Simply feel good

My stay at Anavana Beach Resort on Koh Samui was just great. I would like to highlight the resort's beautiful garden: lovingly landscaped, with a calm watercourse and beautiful koi fish that create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. A real feel-good place surrounded by greenery. The service throughout the resort is excellent. The staff is warm, attentive and always helpful – you feel welcome and well looked after from the first moment. Breakfast was also a daily highlight. The selection is varied, everything is freshly prepared and tastes excellent. Anavana Beach Resort is a perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy. I would love to come back and can recommend it without restriction!

The most friendliest and helpful hotel team ever! The resort is very unique, authentic, quiet and simply georgeus. Our family loved all the details of the villas and the stunning garden. They were absolutely profi and flexibel staff. They do everything for you to feel confortable and relaxed during our Samui holiday. Thank you very much for the beautiful memories!
